Speaking of the distance between Bangalore and Coorg, the stretch is conveniently connected by well-maintained highways, therefore people frequently choose private cabs and buses to get there. There are neighbouring airports and train stations with effective connections. Driving from Bangalore to Coorg will allow you to explore many of nature's gifts. This tiny oasis is located as one enters the Western Ghats in the southern state of Karnataka and serves as the ideal diversion from the weekly exhaustion and weariness of the 9 to 5 job. Finding this retreat in the same state would be ideal, right? There is the air of the city on the one hand, and on the other, there is this peaceful air that would restore one's sense of life. Thus, one must travel from Bangalore to Coorg for a magical experience, especially because there is a Bangalore to Coorg route that is incredibly convenient and breathtaking, which is the icing on the cake. Therefore, it is a necessary excursion.

Due to the road distance when going from Bangalore to Coorg being only 264 km, the most preferred way of travelling is by road. This can be done either by bus or by car. The distance between Bangalore and Coorg is around 250 km, which can be covered through various modes of transportations. 

 

Bangalore to Coorg by Road

By Car- 

The most practical choice for a traveller is to commute by road because there is no direct train link between Bangalore and Coorg. The trip usually takes no longer than six hours and is reasonably priced, costing about INR 3,000 (one way), though this can change depending on the vehicle and the number of people. You can choose to accomplish it through cab companies that offer outstation services, including Ola, Meru, or Taxi. In addition to these, there are local taxi companies, including the well-known Bharat International Travels, Akbar Travels, KSTDC, and others. The routes which can be taken are-

Route 1: The Kushalnagar Route (via Mysore-Madikeri Highway)

275 kilometres in approximately 6 hours. From Bangalore to Ramanagara to Mandya to Kushalnagar to Madikeri and to Coorg.

Route 2: The Channarayapatna Route (Via NH 48)

Distance of approximately 330 kilometres will be covered within 7 hours. From Bangalore to Channarayapatna to Hassan to Sakleshpur and to Coorg.

Route 3: The Nagarhole Route (Via NH 275)

Distances of roughly 300 kilometres can be covered within 7 hours. From Bangalore to Ramanagara to Mandya to Nagarhole to Gonikoppal and to Coorg.

 

By Bus-

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) operates direct buses on this route, covering the entire road distance in just six hours. At the KSRTC Vehicle Station in Madikeri, travellers must disembark the bus after getting off at the Kempegowda Bus Station in Bangalore. Passengers have a variety of seating options, including AC Semi-sleeper, AC Sleeper, and Non AC Sleeper.

Ashwini Tours And Travels, Green Line Travels And Holidays, Gowri Shankar Travels, Poornima Tours, and SRS Travels are some of the well-known bus companies. In addition to this, there are a tonne of private buses available for you to choose from with fares ranging from INR 300 to 700. The first bus to depart from Bangalore to Coorg is the one at 7 AM and the last one at 23:00. 

 

Bangalore to Coorg by Train

Coorg lacks a local train station. Mysore Junction and Mangalore Central Railway Station, which are 95 km and 134 km away from Coorg, respectively, are the two railway stations that are nearest to Coorg. The best way to get from Bangalore to Coorg by train is to take a train to Mysore Junction, from there you can get a bus or cab to Coorg. Numerous trains run frequently from Bangalore to Mysore, and the trip normally takes three to four hours. You can also travel by train from Bangalore to Mangalore, however there are only two trains that run between the two cities in addition to the greater distance between them.

You can travel the short 1.4 km by foot to the closest bus stop from Mysore Railway Station. Depending on whether you want an AC or non-AC bus, you can board one here and travel to Coorg. Three to five hours are needed for this bus trip. Cabs are significantly more expensive than buses when travelling to Coorg from the Mysore Junction. While a bus from Mysore to Coorg can cost anywhere from Rs. 200 to Rs. 800, a cab journey typically costs Rs. 3000.

 

Bangalore to Coorg by Flight

Bangalore International Airport is one of the closest airports to Coorg. As a result, if one is looking for flights from Bangalore to Coorg, they are sadly nonexistent. No aircraft window, however, would be able to portray how pleasant and rich with nature and its lush green bounty the roads are on both sides. So why not travel by road to Coorg, which is sorely needed.
