Bangalore to Hampi by Road

By Car-

Travellers may find it convenient to commute by road because there is no direct train route that connects Bangalore and Hampi; the 350 km can be covered in 7-8 hours. There are many taxi services that run along this route, and companies like Savaari, GetMeCab, BharatTaxi, and others offer rates that are most suitable for their customers' budgets. One may choose to use the outstation services offered by Ola, Uber, or Meru in addition to these local taxi companies. 

The routes that can be taken are-

Route 1: The Hospet Route (via NH48 and NH50)

Distance of approximately 360 kilometres being traversed in approximately 7-8 hours. 

From Bangalore to Chitradurga to Hospet and to Hampi.

Route 2: The Hiriyur Route

Distance of approximately 370 kilometres being traversed in approximately 7-8 hours. 

From Bangalore to Tumkur to Hiriyur to Challakere to Rampura and to Hampi.

Route 3: The Anantpura Route

Distance of approximately 440 kilometres being traversed in approximately 8-9 hours. 

From Bangalore to Lepakshi to Anantapur to Bellari and to Hampi.

 

Road Conditions

Despite the fact that route 1 (through Hospet) is the quickest in terms of travel time to Hampi, it has poorly maintained roads, which can result in potholes and traffic jams, which slow down traffic and cause delays.

Contrarily, despite route 3's relatively greater length compared to the other routes, it offers a higher level of driving enjoyment (thanks to its well-maintained roads) and can be chosen provided the extra time is made up for elsewhere in the travel schedule.

By Bus-

Try to reserve your tickets as early as you can, whether you decide to take the bus or the train. There is a direct bus departing from Bangalore Kempegowda Bus Stand and arriving at Hampi. You may go to Hospet town, which is around 13 kilometres (8 miles) from Hampi, by bus or train.
