Built with Malnad architectural blend, Five-bedroom property with spacious verandah and attached bathrooms are open to guests from 2015. It is surrounded by coffee/cardamom and pepper plantations on one side and few homes, on the other side, providing the perfect essence of country life.

"HemaKoota," in Kannada translates to 'golden gathering.' is established in Atthihally near Sakleshpur. The property is owned and managed by us, Gowtham and Manu Gowtham. We live in a century-old house next to the property. We are involved in farming for the past 30 years and in the hospitality business for over ten years. We believe consistency is the key to success, and we take pride in being ranked #1 in specialty lodging on TripAdvisor and also on google from 2016, which comes down to impeccable hospitality and exceptional service. We shall not forget to mention the showstopper "Kiwi" - one of the coolest pooches!

What's different at 'Hemakoota?'

VISION - Promote responsible tourism. We believe it is 'us' who are responsible for keeping our planet clean.
We encourage our guests not to use and dispose of plastics/glasses in this region as there are no recycling facilities in the region - pack your trash.
A limited number of guests in the property, Limited usage of water, Driving at lower speeds, Limit honking to a minimum, Restrict loud music during late hours.

AGRITOURISM, ECOTOURISM - Guests are informed about various phases of cardamom, coffee, pepper, and paddy plantation by taking them for a short plantation trail around the homestay. We are knowledgeable of the region-specific flora and fauna, and we will keep you informed with the best of our knowledge.  

GREEN INITIATIVE - We have pledged to plant at least 100 saplings per year starting from 2020 with the cooperation of our guests, adding to what we currently do in our farms. Locally suitable plants are identified, and we focus on carrying out this drive in the pre-monsoon season. We plan to plant and conserve 1000 saplings over ten years. The success of this initiative might motivate other owners around, and we also plan to do more (Increase numbers).    

BEYOND BUSINESS - We have started contributing to wildlife conservation, education of school students, and also an emergency response by donating a part of our earnings.

WELLBEING TUTORIALS - Basic instructions on Yoga and wellbeing (1 Hour) will be provided to genuinely interested guests by an instructor who's been spreading awareness for over two years. Please inform us during the reservation and please get your own inventory.  

FOOD and HOSPITALITY - We serve the best food at "HemaKoota," taking the guests on a culinary journey flavoured with homegrown spices. Every meal is prepared and served with all the passion and love.
The impeccable hospitality here will make our guests feel home.

TIME SLOWS DOWN - With no mobile network, Wi-Fi or TV, time slows down here. We encourage our guests to spend time in the adobe of nature, either relaxing or doing some activities like short hiking and sightseeing.
